The Arista DCS-7280QRA-C36S-R is a high-performance Layer 3 data center switch router engineered for cloud networking, enterprise core networks, internet exchange points, and large-scale data centers. It features 36 QSFP+ ports, supporting up to 36 x 40GbE or 12 x 100GbE connectivity through breakout configurations, delivering an aggregate switching capacity of 3.84 Tbps.
Built on Arista's EOS (Extensible Operating System) and featuring AlgoMatch™ technology, the switch offers advanced routing, switching, telemetry, VXLAN, EVPN, MPLS, BGP, and network virtualization capabilities. Deep packet buffers and high forwarding performance make it ideal for latency-sensitive applications, cloud deployments, and large enterprise environments. The "-R" model includes rear-to-front airflow for optimized rack cooling. Arista announced this model's end of sale in 2021, with support continuing through published lifecycle milestones.
